National Organisations
5National Legal Aid is the peak body for Legal Aid Commissions across Australia. It coordinates legal aid services and advocates for access to justice for disadvantaged Australians.
NATSILS is the peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services. They provide culturally safe legal assistance to First Nations peoples across all areas of law including family law.
Community Legal Centres Australia represents over 160 community-based legal services across all states and territories. CLCs provide free legal advice and services to people who cannot afford a private lawyer.
Justice Connect connects people who cannot afford a lawyer with pro bono legal help from volunteer lawyers at leading law firms. They operate in NSW and Victoria.
A national telephone service providing information, advice, and referrals for families affected by relationship or separation issues. Operates Monday to Friday 8am–8pm and Saturday 10am–4pm (AEST).
Legal Aid Commissions
8Legal Aid ACT provides free legal information, advice, and representation to eligible people in the Australian Capital Territory. Their family law team assists with all aspects of family law matters.
Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid provider in Australia. They offer comprehensive family law services including advice, representation, and dispute resolution across NSW.
The NT Legal Aid Commission provides legal assistance to eligible Territorians. They have a strong focus on culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
Legal Aid Queensland provides legal help to financially disadvantaged Queenslanders. Their family law division is one of the largest in Australia, with offices across the state.
The Legal Services Commission of SA provides legal assistance to eligible South Australians. They offer a comprehensive range of family law services.
Legal Aid Tasmania provides legal assistance to eligible Tasmanians. They offer family law services through offices in Hobart, Launceston, Devonport, and Burnie.
Victoria Legal Aid is one of Australia's largest legal aid providers. Their family law program offers extensive services including advice, representation, dispute resolution, and specialist programs.
Legal Aid WA provides legal assistance to eligible Western Australians. They offer family law services through the Family Court of WA (which has its own jurisdiction) and the FCFCOA.

17Women's Legal Service NSW provides free legal advice, information, and referrals to women in NSW on family law, domestic violence, and sexual assault matters.
Law Access NSW is a free government telephone service that provides legal information, referrals, and in some cases, advice for people who have a legal problem in NSW.
Redfern Legal Centre provides free legal services to people in inner Sydney and surrounding areas, including family law advice and assistance.
Women's Legal Service Victoria provides free legal advice and representation to women experiencing family law issues, family violence, and sexual assault in Victoria.
Fitzroy Legal Service provides free legal advice and casework services to people in the City of Yarra and surrounding areas in Melbourne.
Women's Legal Service Queensland provides free legal advice and representation to Queensland women on family law, domestic violence, and child protection matters.
Caxton Legal Centre is one of Queensland's largest community legal centres, providing free legal advice and services in family law and other areas.
The Men's Legal Service, operated by Caxton Legal Centre, provides free legal advice to men in Queensland on family law matters. It specifically addresses the legal needs of men going through separation.
Women's Legal Service SA provides free legal advice and representation to women in South Australia on family law, domestic violence, and related matters.
Uniting Communities Law Centre provides free legal advice and assistance to disadvantaged people in South Australia, including family law matters.

Relationships Australia provides Family Dispute Resolution (mediation), counselling, and support services. They operate Family Relationship Centres across Australia where you can access free or low-cost mediation.
The Aboriginal Legal Service NSW/ACT provides culturally safe legal services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in NSW and ACT, including family law and care and protection matters.
Provides culturally safe family law and family violence legal services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.
RAILS provides free legal advice and representation to refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants in Queensland, including family violence matters that intersect with immigration status.
